What we do

Oak Bay Watch relies on an ever growing network of resident professionals and enthusiasts who care about our community, its heritage and future. Our efforts are currently focused on: 

• promoting community engagement by informing and educating residents on ways to make their voices heard, and establish a two-way conversation channel with the mayor, councillors and city staff.

• holding our elected official accountable to make sure that decisions are legal and unbiased, and that they reflect the needs and expectations of residents. 
  

• promoting responsible growth by offering council alternative ways to establish clear development guidelines and bylaws to enforce limits on building size and lot coverage, and ensure our streetscapes continue to boast homes of proportionate size relative to their surroundings.

• supporting tree and urban forest protection, especially those being threatened by new development.
