A resident survey indicates that the issues most residents are concerned about are over-development, failing infrastructure, increasing taxes and lack of community engagement. Here are some questions that need answers:
• What is Council’s long term plan that protects our neighbourhoods, our green space, our tree canopy and our natural environment?
• Why do the Mayor and Council consistently fail to consult with residents, listen and then respond on the big ticket items that affect the community’s future?
• Where are the controls, checks and balances by Mayor and Council on development, financial and budget management and taxes, and how are these issues reflected in Council’s strategic priorities?
"We would like to thank Oak Bay Watch for alerting us in early June 2017 to a proposed development beside us and supporting us in approaching Oak Bay Council and staff to inquire about the details of this precedent-setting bare-land strata application. This dedicated volunteer group is doing the work that the Oak Bay municipality should be doing in supporting its citizens by working with us, along side developers, for the public good of our beautiful community”.....E and A Jenson
