Shelboune Street - Then & Now
Is this progress? This perspective most likely depends on whether you are a resident, a spectator, or in many cases a politician. Oak Bay Watch Perspective
Rephotography is the art of reshooting old photos of places in the modern day that mainly depict places that change dramatically over the years. The "then" pictures were usually taken almost a hundred (or even more) years ago. However, it seems to us today, Shelbourne Street being a case in point, that we don't have to wait anywhere near that long for pictures of the dramatic changes to our communities. This would not be a concern if our governments had viewed progress as an opportunity to change things for the better. |
